HUD’s R.E.M. COUNSELING SERVICES  Please complete this HUD Counseling asap

VERY FIRST THING, Please call any of the following Consultants telephone numbers and say:

“I am making an application for a Reverse Equity Mortgage with Banking Mortgage Services, Corp in Miami, Florida, and would like to schedule a telephone counseling session. My name is __________ and my telephone number is _________.“

If you want to finance the purchase of a home with a Reverse Mortgage, you must inform the Counselor, prior to the interview, that it is for the PURCHASE PROGRAM.

If your call is answered by voice mail, either call another number from the list below, or leave the above message on their voice mail. The counseling service will give you a date and a time, which is acceptable to you, when they will call back for the counseling telephone session. The telephone call lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, and is very interesting.  Please have them fax me a copy at 786-345-0783 and  305-666-0251 As Soon As Possible

            If there is a Power of Attorney, the POA must participate in the counseling and their name must appear in the Counseling certificate. Please call me before counseling.

The Counseling agency will request you pay the required Fee of $125.00. Some agencies will require only $75.00 at the time of Couinseling. You may request that the $125 fee be collected at closing. There are some agencies on the List that mighyt provide FREE counseling. You must be rady to explain ":financial hardship". Upon completing the counseling session you will be issued a certificate that will be used as evidence that the counseling was completed. As soon as you receive the certificate please notify me at 786-262-6486 that you have received it. We will need the original for the FHA file. The counseling session is not a test. The counselor will be talking about the advantages and disadvantages of a Reverse Equity Mortgage, making sure that you understand the loan program and if it is right for you.
