The lockdown certainly has a negative effect on the human being. For myself, at 79 years of age, it has meant a 180 Degree turn in my life. Prior to the Lockdown, I went to work every weekday at our Reverse Mortgage office, enjoyed the company of my Co-Workers, met other building tenants, and, specially getting out of the house. After the lockdown and prior to my recent surgery, I had to change my life greatly. 1) I established a Home-Office with a lot of what I had at the office. 2) After a mostly sedentary life, I started doing light exercises in order to pass the time and not wilt anymore. I felt good. 3) except for a short walk around the block, some days, I did not go out very much.
But, on the day I went into the Emergency Room, 4 new Clients called or emailed interested im doing new Mortgages. Thank God, the only 2 that were doable, decided they would wait me out and today, we are working to do their Reverse Mortgages. These are folks that recognized that they needed Certainty in their lives.
One, has 2 mortgages for a total of $389,500 on their home. The 2 monthly payments are putting a serious strain on their finances and creating serious stress in their lives. They are retired and living on Social Security and a small pension and it was getting to be an untennable situation. A Reverse Mortgage could eliminate both mortgages and they would keep the money that now goes to monthly payments in their pockets for the rest of their lives.
